    RCB picks Wanindu and Chameera for IPL 2021

    Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday announced 2 new Sri Lankan players as replacements for the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2021, starting September 19 in the UAE. Sri Lanka spinner Wanidu Hasaranga, fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera are the players who got chosen.

    Organizers decided to temporarily suspend IPL 2021in May after positive Covid-19 cases were reported from the franchises in Ahmadabad and Delhi.

    The remainder of the season will continue in the UAE before the T20 World Cup. RCB is currently sitting at the 3rd spot with 7 wins from 10 matches.

    Sri Lanka’s highly-rated leg-spinner Wanidu Hasaranga, currently the 2nd best T20 bowler in the world, replaces Adam Zampa who is unavailable for the rest of the season. Adam played for RCB before it was temporarily suspended.

    Meanwhile, Australia fast bowlers Kane Richardson and Daniel Sams will not be available for RCB for the remainder of IPL 2021. RCB has signed Dushmantha Chameera as the only pace-bowling replacement.
