The program to provide Covid vaccine to teachers and non-academic staff members in all schools islandwide commenced today (12).
According to the Ministry of Education, there was a keen interest among teachers and non-academic staff to get the Covid vaccine.
The program is scheduled to run continuously for about two weeks, during the time 279,000 academic and non-academic staff members are scheduled to be vaccinated.
Teachers and non-academic staff in the Colombo Education Zone are being vaccinated at the Army Hospital in Narahenpita. Many teachers said that the vaccinations would be carried out in schools in the Colombo region without any congestion.
