A special team is scheduled to leave for Anuradhapura on the 2nd of April to inspect the cracks in the historical Jethavanarama Dagabe of Anuradhapura.
A group of senior officials from the Central Cultural Fund and Archeology Department of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs will join it.
Apart from that, the members of the expert committee appointed to examine the cracks in Dagabe will also join it.
Cultural Affairs Minister Mr. Vidura Wickramanayake said that after examining it, a conclusion will be reached on the remedies that should be applied immediately.
These cracks occurred in the year 2016 in Jethavanarama Dagabe, which was built by King Mahasen of the Anuradhapura era, which is considered the world’s largest brick monument.
The Central Cultural Fund has already taken many steps to control it.
