Basil Rajapaksa, who has been appointed as a Member of Parliament, says that he will help the President and the Prime Minister to further strengthen the government’s efforts to manage this crucial moment and work for the common good of the nation.
This is the first time he has spoken about it since the series of events leading up to his election as Member of Parliament.
Basil Rajapaksa has further stated the following.
“I would like to extend my sincere condolences to His Excellency the President, who was invited to represent Parliament, the Hon. Prime Minister, all Members of Parliament, Ministers and Members of Parliament, and to all members of the Sri Lanka People’s Front, civil society organizations and the general public, and my heartfelt thanks also go to the Hon. Jayantha Ketagoda, who was so generous enough to relinquish his seat upon that request.
I will work unconditionally to further strengthen the unwavering efforts of the Government, led by His Excellency the President and the Prime Minister, to manage this crucial moment and to achieve common national aspirations.
