Dr. Chandima Jeewandara, Director, Institute of Allergy, Immunology and Cell Biology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, said that the Indian Delta variety, the most contagious Covid variety, is still a major threat to those who have not been vaccinated or partially vaccinated.
He emphasized the need to take steps to reduce the spread of the disease until a significant percentage of the country’s population is fully vaccinated.
He also reminded the people that the threat of the Covid epidemic was not over yet.
