The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has approved the inclusion of cricket in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
In the 141st IOC session held yesterday (16) in Mumbai, India, the addition of cricket to the Los Angeles (LA28) Olympic Games was officially announced.
The International Olympic Committee points out that cricket has represented the Olympics only once before and that was in the year 1900.
Accordingly, because the Olympic mandate will be received again in 2028, cricket will join the Olympic Games in 128 years.

The ICC has taken the unique opportunity to approve the proposal to add cricket to the Olympics through an extensive two-year process.
“We are delighted that the IOC session confirmed the inclusion of cricket in the LA28 Olympic Games,” said ICC President Greg Barclay.
