Sri Lanka once again recognised for their Ability to Negotiate well

Teams from Sri Lanka are now making a global mark in the Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) sphere. Most recently 4 students have been invited to represent their country at the Warsaw Negotiations Rounds (WNR) in Poland. The well seasoned team would be coached by Anuji Kannangara a certified mediator, and would be led by Shayhum AbooSalih who was part the winning Mediation team at Bucerius Germany and a student of the University of London (UOL) .

Joining them is Shanik Pakeer from the Sri Lanka Law College who supported the team at the last IMSG Singapore. Simon Askey of UOL received letters of the teams dedication and execptional performance.
Milindri Angammana a fellow mediation advocate would also take part.

The organisers appreciate the commitment shown and have extended their support to help the crew liase with well wishers and the Swiss embassy who handles the Polish Visa for Sri Lanka. This would allow the team to attend the negotiations in person for the year 2024.

Prestigious opportunities like WNR open the doors for more personal to receive international exposure in their careers. Shayhum is confident that by partaking in more global events the world would be able to benefit from the countries’ contribution and also usher in sponsorships and jobs for the youth which would benefit the Island’s foreign exchange.

Negotiation is a key interpersonal skill which facilitates better conversations. The nation is honoured by the work done by Warsaw and wish that such endeavours lead to the most fruitful and amicable settlements in the future.
