The Elections Commission has issued a special gazette notification this afternoon stating that Ranil Wickremesinghe will be appointed as the UNP National List Member of Parliament.
The General Secretary of the party Palitha Range Bandara had made a written request to the Elections Commission to appoint Ranil Wickremesinghe to the national list.
Ranil Wickremesinghe is scheduled to be sworn in as a Member of Parliament on the 22nd of this month.
