It is reported that the allowance of Rs. 5,000 has not been given to those who have lost their jobs despite the travel restrictions imposed for more than three weeks.
The Rs. 5,000 allowance provided by the government has been given only to Samurdhi recipient families and it is a serious problem that other low income families who have lost their jobs have not received such assistance, they said.
The family members say that even though they were entitled to an allowance of Rs. 5,000 on previous occasions, it is very unfair to lose this time.
