An activist who was seriously injured in the head when he went to take over the President’s House in Colombo Fort died yesterday.
That was while receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.
Former commando named W. D. L. Jayasena (59) who resided in Ruhunu Sarasavi Place, Wellamadama, Devinuwara has died.
On July 9th, he was one of the foremost among the fighters who broke through the security walls and marched forward to take over the Fort President’s House.
He was trying to enter the Presidential Palace through the gate near the Central Bank, and when he landed on a nearby wall, he fell to the ground and suffered serious head injuries.
He was undergoing treatment at the Colombo National Hospital and had undergone surgery on his head.
After receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital for a long time, he was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital again on December 19 due to a complication that occurred while he was at home.
