34 police OICs who did not take proper measures to prevent property and loss of life while controlling the unrest that broke out across the country on May 09, have been relieved of their positions.
That is by transferring those officers and using them for general duties in other police stations.
Yesterday alone 23 Police OICs were transferred by the Inspector General of Police Mr. Chandana Wickramaratne.
Police information disclosed that an investigation is to be conducted regarding those officers.
