    Navy forces rescue flood victims – Photos Included

    Another 66 persons were rescued by the Navy from the floods in the Gampaha and Kalutara districts today.

    The Navy has deployed 33 relief teams covering the Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa and North Western Provinces to provide relief to the people affected by the heavy rains.

    As at this afternoon (05), Navy relief teams have rescued 66 people, including children and women, and provided relief to flood victims in several areas in the Gampaha and Kalutara districts.

    Accordingly, 66 persons were rescued including children and women from the flood affected areas in Ja-Ela area in Gampaha District (61) and 5 others were in Bulathsinhala area in Kalutara District.

    They were then directed to safer places to provide relief.

    In addition, the Navy has deployed 33 relief teams covering flood-prone areas in Gampaha, Kalutara, Colombo, Ratnapura, Galle, Matara and Puttalam districts to support the flood victims and prepared another 11 relief teams who are ready to be deployed on-demand.
