President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has engaged in a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The President has requested the Russian President to provide loan assistance to Sri Lanka for the import of fuel and to start Aeroflot Airlines again to Sri Lanka.
The President has also appreciated the support given in the past in overcoming challenges.
It is mentioned that the two sides have also agreed to further strengthen the relations between the two countries in the tourism, trade and cultural sectors.
