Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has decided to stage a protest next week demanding the resignation of the President and the Prime Minister to form an all-party government.
Accordingly, the party has decided to declare next week as a protest week.
Commenting on this, MP Rajitha Senaratne said a media briefing will be held next Monday morning under the chairmanship of party leader Sajith Premadasa and General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara to inform the public about the protests taking place that week.
He added that other parties would also be invited to the protest.
The decision was taken at a special discussion held today (18) at the office of the Leader of the Opposition between the Leader of the Samagi Jana Balawega Sajith Premadasa and the group of parliamentarians.
He said that when the country is handed over by the Yahapalana government in 2019, such an economic situation did not exist in the country and also mentioned that the country will not receive world aid as long as the current President is in power.
