Japan provides a grant of 500 million Yen(¥)

Japan has provided a grant of 500 million Yen to facilitate the export of perishable plant products through the promotion of Phytosanitary Certification in Sri Lanka.

The statement issued by the Ministry of Finance in this regard is as follows.

The National Plant Quarantine Service facilitates the international marketing of healthy plant and plant products free from diseases and pests for the development of the agricultural sector and related trade sectors.

The institute aims to further enhance the plant hygiene certification facility by strengthening the export certificate as well as meeting the requirements for specific pest diagnosis at the entry and exit points of the country for inspection.
