IGP C.D. Mr. Wickramaratne has informed every OIC in the country is urged to take appropriate security measures to prevent any untoward incidents when people are queuing near petrol stations.
The IGP has instructed the OICs to take necessary steps to provide an uninterrupted supply of fuel to the people who come to obtain fuel through cans or buckets for the needs of farming and agricultural implements, fuel to ambulances, fire trucks, ambulances, other vehicles, and other vehicles related to the tourism sector on a priority basis.
The IGP has also instructed the police to deploy police officers to control traffic when there are queues at petrol stations to obtain fuel.
