Principals across the country will go on strike next Friday (28) demanding the elimination of salary anomalies.
The Principals’ Union says they are going on a token strike demanding a solution to the salary circular issued by the Secretary of Education on January 5, alleging that a serious financial injustice has been done to the graded principals.
Piyasiri Fernando, a representative of the Principals’ Union, said that the token strike was being carried out as the education authorities had not taken any action to rectify the financial injustice done to the grading principals.
As the second step, we are going to organize a massive protest in front of the Ministry of Education on the third of February, he said.
