Thieves broke into the house of an Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Education loacted in Wellawatte and stole property worth over 31 lakh rupees.
The Wellawatta Police say that the theft took place yesterday morning when no one was in the house.
The police say that they broke into the house from the back door and stole a lot of property including a 13-pound gold necklace, 07 pairs of earrings, 05 rings, 300 US dollars and a laptop from a closet in the room.
