The Department of Meteorology says that a change in the current dry weather condition of the island can be expected from today.
Accordingly, several rainy seasons will occur in Eastern, Uva and Northern provinces today.
Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, South, North-West and North-Central provinces will experience scattered showers or thunderstorms during the evening or night.
Heavy rains of more than 50 mm may occur in some places in Sabaragamuwa province.
Foggy conditions are expected in some places in Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and Galle and Matara districts in the morning.
People are advised to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
