The car in which former cricketer Lahiru Thirimanna was traveling collided with a lorry at the Punchikulam area on Tirappane road in Anuradhapura at around 7.45 this morning.
The police say that the accident occurred when the lorry collided head-on with the car and his mother, the driver, who was also traveling in the car, was injured and admitted to the Anuradhapura hospital.
It is said that this accident happened while coming from Kandy to Anuradhapura.
