A special police team of the Criminal Investigation Department arrested Sepala Amarasinghe, who was issuing insulting statements on social media, in Boralasgamu today.
Police Media Spokesman Senior Superintendent of Police Advocate Nihal Talduwa said that this person, Sepala Amarasinghe, was arrested in connection with an investigation against him that started today by the Criminal Investigation Department under the orders of the Inspector General of Police. He breaks the hearts of Buddhist people and insults the Temple of the Tooth by making statements regarding Mr. Janaka Senadhipati, who has been accused of building a fake temple of the tooth in Vadakada, Poduhera area in Kurunegala and operating a money and gold racket by deceiving local and foreign Buddhists.
Mr. Nihal Talduwa said that two police teams consisting of an Assistant Superintendent of Police are investigating this.
We are budhist. But we are against his arrest because of this “Labbe Maligawa”.
