The National Transport Commission has decided to reduce bus fares by giving the people the benefit of the reduction in fuel prices.
Its Acting Director General Ms. Naomi Jayawardena said that the related calculations have been started.
Accordingly, she said that the new bus fares are expected to be announced.
However, the All Ceylon Three Wheeler Owners and Drivers Association says that there will be no reduction in tuk-tuk fares.
Mr. Sudil Jayaruk, its chairman, said that the rates will be reduced only if the price of petrol is reduced by more than 300 rupees.
