Chairman of Ceylon Electricity Board Dr. Tilak Siyambalapitiya says that an analysis will be started on the reduction of electricity charges.
He mentioned that the related report will be submitted to the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka.
The term of office of the Public Utilities Commission has ended and new members will be appointed after the new parliament is convened.
The chairman points out that an analysis should be done every six months regarding electricity charges, but it has not been done formally.
He said that the expectation of the new government is to reduce the electricity charges so that the people get maximum relief.
