Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya stated that the government is making significant efforts to reduce unnecessary expenditures and control spending.
She mentioned that all officials have been informed about this matter.
Accordingly, relevant officials have been instructed to avoid making wasteful expenses, Dr. Amarasuriya said.
“This is an interim government. We can’t solve issues that have been ongoing for years within just six weeks. The focus right now is on priorities… We’ve taken on a challenge, and we need to face it, regardless of how tough it may be. There’s no time to dwell on the weight of it. I have received maximum support from the relevant officials. The government is receiving collective support for the transformative change it is attempting. It’s now clear that the false fears about us were unfounded. It’s easy to work with us.”
