As a candidate for the 2024 presidential election, former Minister of Justice Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapaksa has deposited bail money with the Election Commission.
That is as the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Front.
He resigned from the position of Minister of Justice, Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reforms on July 29 and officially announced on July 25 that he will contest the upcoming presidential election.
