The National Police Commission has appointed Mr. Lalith S Pathinayake, Senior DIG in charge of Central Province, to serve as the Head of Police Administration Division.
The National Police Commission has reached this decision after today’s meeting.
After Mr. Nilantha Jayawardena was sent on compulsory leave, the post of Head of Police Administration Division became vacant, and at the same time, with the court suspending the post of Inspector General of Police, Mr. Deshbandu Tennakoon, the administrative affairs of the police became seriously problematic.
The National Police Commission, which has paid special attention in this regard, has made this appointment with the approval of the Attorney General.
Information stated that Mr. Lalith Patinayake will work in this position until further notice from the National Police Commission.
