Jail Commissioner Gamini B Dissanayake says that on the 16th of this month, a special opportunity has been given to the inmates to receive the visitors.
He said that this decision was taken due to the annual Prison Day.
He said that on that day, the relatives of the inmates bring the food and hygiene materials that are enough for one inmate.
Mr. Gamini B Dissanayake said that all the prisons in the island are conducting the screening of the visitors in accordance with all the health guidelines.
