According to government sources, a group of representatives of a company from the United States of America are currently in Sri Lanka to start the basic organization of the election campaign of President Ranil Wickremesinghe for the upcoming presidential election.
It is said that this American company has completed the election project of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The government sources added that the representatives have already met with parliamentary ministers, trade unions, heads of some government institutions and representatives of civil organizations and started the preliminary work for the presidential election.
Accordingly, the special attention of the representatives has already been paid to the shortcomings of the President’s media campaign activities and they have also submitted their proposals to the President’s side to overcome those shortcomings and strengthen the mechanism.
Then, a full report on the matter is scheduled to be given to President Ranil Wickramasinghe in the first week of next month.
Meanwhile, Mr. Basil Rajapaksa has informed the seat organizers of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna in the recent discussion that President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s position on the upcoming presidential election will be communicated to the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna by the end of the month.
According to political sources, Mr. Basil Rajapaksa has said that the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna will make an official statement in this regard.
