According to the Consumer Affairs Authority, consumers may be deceived while buying goods from places where goods are sold during the New Year festival.
Mr. Asela Bandara, Director of Information of the said authority, said that the places where the goods are sold can change the information of the goods that are about to expire under the name “Sale Items” and carry out sales during the festive season.
He claims that the officers of the groups attached to the district secretaries’ offices on the island will continue raids in search of people selling such goods during this period of the year.
However, he further mentioned that you can call the “1977” telephone number of the Consumer Affairs Authority and give information in this regard and then maximum action will be taken based on that information.
