According to the Aswasuma Welfare Benefit Board, about 250,000 applications have been received for the second round of the Aswasuma program.
Its chairman Mr. Jayantha Wijeratne said that this time the applications were called online.
In addition to this, he stated that another group of people have submitted their applications to the regional secretariats.
Currently, the number of people benefiting from the Aswasuma program is over 16 lakh.
He said that due to problems with documents including lack of identity cards, more than 300,000 people have not been able to provide the Aswasuma benefits so far.
