According to the Ministry of Education, steps will be taken to provide free meals to every school student from grade 1 to grade 5 from next month.
The Ministry stated that it is planned to provide the meal daily at 7.30 am on school days.
This meal is to be provided to 17 lakh students.
An amount of 16.6 billion rupees has been allocated for that.
Meals are prepared according to a recipe approved by the Ministry.
The Ministry of Education further states that it will be monitored by public health inspectors.
