The tripartite agreement was signed today (29) at the Ministry of Agriculture to provide tea fertilizer at subsidized prices.
The agreement was signed under the chairmanship of Minister Mahinda Amaraweera and the presidents of Sri Lanka Tea Board and Small Tea Estate Development Authority signed the agreement with Colombo Commercial Fertilizer Company and Lanka Fertilizer Company.
Accordingly, the government-owned Sri Lanka Fertilizer Company and Colombo Commercial Fertilizer Company have reduced the prices of five types of special fertilizers for tea cultivation by 2000 rupees and made arrangements to provide them to small and medium-scale tea growers.
The Minister also officially handed over tea fertilizer to the Tea Board and the Small Tea Estate Development Authority. Ministry Secretary Mr. Janaka Dharmakirthi and others participated in those occasions.
