The government has taken steps to increase excise, casino and hotel annual license fees.
This is effective from January 12, 2024.
As the Minister of Finance, President Ranil Wickramasinghe has issued the relevant order.
Accordingly, the rate of increase in distillery licences, bottling licences, liquor annual stock licences, tourism board approved hotel annual license fees is shown below.
However, the annual license fee for nightclubs has been reduced from Rs 500,000 to Rs 250,000.
