    Sri Lanka won the first match in the Super 04 round

    The Sri Lankan players managed to record a 21-run victory over Bangladesh in the 1st match of the Super 04 round of the Asia Cup today (09).

    Bangladesh won the toss and gave Sri Lanka the opportunity to bat first.

    Accordingly, the Sri Lankan team, who batted first, scored 257 runs by losing 9 wickets at the end of fifty overs.

    Sadeera Samarawickrama scored 93 runs in 72 balls, and Kusal Mendis scored 50 runs in 73 balls. Taskin Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud took three wickets each for Bangladesh.

    The Sri Lankan bowlers managed to limit all the Bangladeshi batsmen to 236 runs, chasing a winning target of 258. Maheesh Theekshana, Dasun Shanaka and Matheesha Pathirana managed to take 3 wickets each.

    Towhid Hridoy played an outstanding innings for Bangladesh, scoring 82 runs off 97 balls.
