The Attorney General has informed the Supreme Court that details of money transfers of 12.2 billion rupees have been revealed in Pastor Jerome Fernando’s bank accounts.
The Attorney General has also informed that investigations will be carried out since this information was revealed during the inspection of 11 bank accounts of the pastor.
The concerned pastor is being investigated under the Prevention of Disturbance of Religious Harmony and Money Laundering Act.
I am no fan of Jerome Fernando but lets remember the following;-
His money is not public money it is his private money.
He did not steal this money from the people or the state.
Did he evade tax? That has to be investigated
Is his money acquired via money laundering? That needs ti be thoroughly investigated
His or his Church money-acquiring did not make Sri Lanka bankrupt.
Why is it then that those who stole public money and those who ran Sri Lanka to the ground are not being investigated as vehemently? Why are they who robbed Sri Lanka and made her bankrupt still sitting in the halls of govt whilst JF whose fault lies in hurting the ego of a section of our population is being hunted like a traitor.
JF s words did not hurt the Buddha, He who has achieved enlightenment cannot be hurt by the mere words of a human being after all. Remember JFs words did not bankrupt Sri Lanka.
Was a single Buddhist physically attacked or hurt as a result of JFs words? Its NO to all these questions.
Then why are we not chasing the real rogues the real traitors who bankrupted Sri Lanka. Why are we allowing those who stole stole and stole billions of our Public money, ran Sri Lanka to the ground and made us as a nation of beggars to still sit in the halls of Government ? Why is newswave not writing about the real rogues and traitors of our nation.

Could not agree more. This is just a witch hunt to distract the people’s attention while so much more stealing and robbing of the people of Sri Lanka is happening in broad daylight.
