Former Colombo Mayor Rosy Senanayake is appointed as the Presidential Adviser on Local Government Affairs.
She is a social activist who has held a number of positions including ministerial positions representing the United National Party.
In 2001-2004, she held the position of High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Malaysia and in 2009-2010, she held the position of Opposition Leader of the Western Provincial Council.
She has served as the Minister of State for Children’s Affairs in 2015 and has also served as Prime Minister’s Spokesperson and Deputy Head of the Prime Minister’s Office.
Also working as a social activist, she is a woman who has won several international crowns as Miss Sri Lanka in 1980 and Mrs. World Crown in 1984 as well as a figure queen.
