Election Commissioner General Saman Sri Ratnayake said that a new system has been introduced to prepare the voter list from this year.
Accordingly, Mr. Ratnayake said that households will not receive a blank form to complete the voter list this year and they will provide a copy of last year’s voter list and confirm that it is correct for this year (2023) as well.
He said that the village officer should sign the form before the head of the household names and number of voters who have completed 18 years of age in his house.
Mr. Saman Sri Ratnayake said that if there is a place to enter a new name or to remove an existing name, there is a space for that in the same form.
He mentioned that the village officials have started going from house to house these days to complete the 2023 voter lists according to the new system.
