The government’s focus has been on providing relief to the low-income earners regarding the increased electricity bill.
In the revised budget to be presented to the Parliament in the future, a program to provide concessions to the groups that should receive concessions is being discussed, Minister Susil Premajayantha, the Leader of the Parliament, said while commenting in the Parliament today.
Mr. Susil Premajayantha, Leader of the House, made further comments.
“We have given a debate on the increase in the electricity bill on the 29th. Apart from that, we are taking the necessary steps to include the revised budget in the agenda. Then on 30, 31, 01, and 02, probably in the revised budget, a program to provide concessions to the groups that should receive concessions is currently being discussed. I think then it is possible to take some steps regarding the electricity bill, especially for the low-income beneficiaries.”
