It has been decided to provide fuel to doctors from army camps.
The Secretary of the Ministry of Public Security Mr. S. Hettiarachchi mentions that the Army Commander has also expressed his willingness to provide facilities for the doctors to get fuel from the nearest Army camp.
The secretary also mentioned that this decision was taken considering the unfortunate incidents that occurred in filling stations while taking steps to give priority to doctors in obtaining fuel.
In addition to doctors, it has been decided to release fuel from army camps for lorries that transport essential food items and vehicles that transport vegetables and fruits to economic centers.
Fuel will be released from military bases near economic centers such as Nuwara Eliya, Kappetipola, Dambulla, Tambuttegama, and Meegoda.
