A Coordinating secretary of the former PM was remanded for assaulting Galle Face protesters

The CID has arrested a coordinating secretary of former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa on suspicion of assaulting Galle Face protesters.

The Coordinating Secretary has been remanded till the 8th of this month after being produced before the Fort Magistrate’s Court today. He is scheduled to be presented for an identification parade later in the day.

The suspect is a 53-year-old resident of Annapitiya Road, Tangalle, police spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said.
