Police Media Spokesman Senior DIG Nihal Thalduwa stated that statements are to be obtained from seven parliamentarians today regarding the investigation into the attack on the Galle Face protesters and the protesters in front of Temple Trees.
The CID officials are scheduled to go to the Parliament complex to obtain the statements. The approval of the Speaker to proceed was obtained by the CID yesterday.
Today, the CID is only a name & similar to a sweat shop. There are no carrier Investigators there.
There must be a 3 bench commission assisted by 2 representatives from AGs Dept with a team of Police investigators to assist in this inquiry by directing them to record statements summon persons including politicians n record statement within Commision premises under their supervision.
Young lawyers Association must be invited to cross examine. They can not only shout in public to collect brownie points.
