Parliament will be dissolved with effect from midnight today (24).
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has issued the gazette announcement for that.
Accordingly, the new Parliament will meet on November 21, 2024.
Also, the parliamentary general election will be held on November 14.
It has been further stated in the relevant gazette notification that the period for accepting nominations will be held from October 4th to 11th.
