The Department of Meteorology says that rain may occur from time to time in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts today (03).
The department stated that heavy rains of more than 100mm may occur in some areas in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts.
Also, rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the evening or night in the eastern and Uva provinces.
The Department of Meteorology informs the people to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunder showers.
