Minister of State for Defense Pramitha Bandara Thennakoon said that the food ration allowance of the members of the armed forces will be added to their monthly salary from next January.
The Minister stated this while attending a press conference held today (August 29) at the Ministry of Defense.
This press conference was called to explain the difference in the method of giving food ration allowances to the members of the three armed forces.
Accordingly, the food ration allowance of the military personnel will be added to their monthly salary from next January, thus the financial strength of the military personnel will be more stable and thus financial transparency and accountability will be more intense.
