The Minuwangoda Police say that a follower of the Samagi Jana Balawega Party who attacked an active member of the National People’s Power (NPP) with a sword was arrested.
The attack took place on the night of the 24th.
Police say that LR Galappatti, an active member of the National People’s Power Party, was assaulted in this way and he was admitted to Minuwangoda Hospital and received treatment.
The police say that Kalumsiri, who is a supporter of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya party involved in this assault, was arrested and brought before the Minuwangoda court and the court ordered that he be remanded in custody.
The police say that he came near the house of the National People’s Power Party activist in Minuwangoda, destroyed some properties and scolded him not to help the party. The police also say that the activist of the National People’s Power Party has been injured in the sword attack.
