Member of Parliament Mr. Rohitha Abeygunawardena has been appointed as the convener of President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s series of presidential campaign rallies.
This decision was taken when the group of parliament members of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna supporting the President met yesterday morning (20) under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.
The proposal to appoint Mr. Rohitha Abeygunawardena as convener has been submitted by the ruling party chief organizer Prasanna Ranatunga and it has been passed unanimously.
When the Prime Minister informed President Ranil Wickremesinghe about this, the President expressed his appreciation for assigning this responsibility to Mr. Rohitha Abeygunawardena.
Accordingly, Rohitha Abeygunawardena is going to coordinate and organize nearly 90 major campaign rallies, including the ‘Puluwan Sri Lanka’ series of public rallies organized to cover the entire island from the 24th of this month.
