Mr. Dhammika Perera, a well-known businessman who had decided to stand as the candidate of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna in the upcoming presidential election, has sent a letter to the General Secretary of the party today (06) to inform that he will not participate for that.
According to political sources, the possibility of naming Mr. Dhammika Perera as the candidate of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna will be avoided, and instead, the national organizer of the party, Mr. Namal Rajapaksa, will deposit the security money as the presidential candidate.
It is also reported to Newswave that many remaining members of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna have expressed their displeasure due to Mr. Dhammika Perera’s last-minute change.
Accordingly, another crisis has arisen in the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
