Justice Minister Wijayadasa Rajapaksa has officially announced today that he will run for the upcoming presidential election.
It was during a special press conference held today (25).
“We have to work to achieve a righteous country, a free tomorrow, a green land, and a new path. I am willing to be a pioneer in leading it. Respecting the noble motto that the ruler of a country should take care of his countrymen like children, as stated in the Pali text ‘Save Munisa Praja’, which is mentioned in a ‘tam lipiya’ installed by Emperor Ashoka in India, I hope for your full blessings in my efforts to make it a reality. The 2024 presidential election will be the turning point that will decide the future fate of all of us. Your vote will be the deciding factor in the survival or demise of motherland. Today we all have a sad situation because you have left the right to decide your destiny to the politicians and you are waiting. If you want to see the world change, no one else can make that change but you. I am running as a candidate in this presidential election for the victory of the state of Sri Lanka and the nation of Sri Lanka.” He further said.
