Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission Professor Manjula Fernando says that approval has been given to revise the electricity tariff by 22.5%.
These fees have been revised to be effective from tomorrow (16).
Accordingly, the price of a domestic electricity unit has been reduced from 8 to 6 rupees.
Tariffs have been reduced by 25% for consumers of less than 30 electricity units in the domestic sector.
Between 30-60 domestic electricity units, the electricity tariff has been reduced by 55%.
Meanwhile, bills of electricity consumers with monthly consumption between 61 and 90 units will be reduced by 55%.
Simultaneously, the electricity bill will be reduced in religious places and the price of one unit will be Rs. 6 up to 90 units.
