An audit report has revealed that the company that produced substandard quality medicines when Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella, who is under remand, was the Minister of Health, has never imported the machinery related to the production of those medicines into Sri Lanka.
It is said that during the period of 2017-2021, the company has only imported a fruit juice production machine, a milk storage device, life support equipment, etc. through customs.
Also, an audit report has revealed that this company is a company that imports fruit juice products and milk packet production machines.
In April 2023, the concerned company was inspected by the Drug Regulatory Authority.
It is stated in the audit report that it has been confirmed that there was no suitable facility for the production of medicines.
